Extended Cab REPU in Seattle

Well, after ten years of good service, our 75 REPU needs an engine rebuild, and we are just too busy with house remodeling, new baby, etc. The body is in good condition, all new ball joints in front, needs an engine rebuild and new rear brakes to be in top shape. This truck is very unique, and if you are taller than 5ft 10 inches, it is about the only rotary truck you will find that you can be confortable in. We extended the cab 5 inches and installed a pair of very nice bucket seats from a Honda CRX. Driver seat is shock mounted. The bed has a sprayed on liner of textured urethane, makes it water proof and very tough. RX-4 style 5 speed, Isuzu Trooper alloy wheels.

We think it is worth about $1,000 complete as is, but we will consider offers. We also have LOTS of engine parts, and that includes an excellent pair of rotor housings, nice rotors, a set of cast iron that has phenomenal porting, (previously ran at 250 HP, and have been resurfaced), a Dellorto carb and manifold setup, excellent oil seals and side seals, all the internal bits you need to build a high quality high performance engine (except apex seals, front and rear main seals and the rotor housing seals). We also have all the parts to build a GSL-SE engine, all the wiring harness, manifolds, air flow sensor, etc for a SE installation, and several excellent transmissions, rib case and lightweight.

This truck and some of our other projects are shown at

I know I'm late getting to this thread, but I just checked out your pages and damn! The RX-7/2 Vert is neat enough, to be sure, but I absolutely LOVE the REPU tow truck your cousin built! Where is Ken Durkee located? I've heard the name but never dealt with him. I would love to own that truck someday just for the novelty. By the way- any specs on the big brake conversion for the 1st gen RX-7? I know CP Racing sells one, and I've been thinking about doing one myself like you did, but I'm being lazy. If you have specs (measurements) or templates you'd be willing to share, I'm really interested.

That's great....

...but I still want to know where the two tow-truck REPUs are and if one is for sale!

In another thread...

...I just replied to FLIBOYZ6 on, he mentioned what sounded like one that was 'trash' that he got a tailgate from... that the rest went to the scrapyard...?

Klaus-

...you mean a tow-truck modified one? It wouldn't still have a tailgate on it.....

...you would think...

...but then again, what do I know? ...just what I 'heard'... ...can imagine the 'gate got set aside, therefore in decent shape (?)... or, perhaps, the whole tow assembly protruded above/out, thus saving the 'gate...?
