Why will you be selling?

...especially after the engine swap? Could we see some pics, hear the details, your location, asking price?

blue 74

sunday night i should have pics available, why i'm selling it? iv'e been building a 73 rx-3 for about 1 1/2 years now, with all the body mods to accept larger wheels{ and not look like a 4-wheel drive} ,prep for a complete repaint , 95 single turbo motor, etc . Its been very taxing on my sanity and bank acount. i want to be able to enter car shows when it's done. in about a month it will finally be ready for paint{ mid 90's viper yellow}. been more downs than ups on this prodject, i'm really starting to loose interest. paint job is going to run about 5 grand, which i don't have all of right now . so in order to renew my interest in this project, i gotta get paint on it, which inturn means somethings gotta go. i still have a tan 75 that i will start building once the rx-3 is painted. i'm not going to start bolting parts back on the 3 for about 6 months. i want the paint fully cured.I have all the parts to build another repu to my 74 specs.and then some. so bottom line is money thats needed now , another repu built within a year. rebuilt the holley carb earlier tonight , fi motor coming out tomarrow, streetport motor going in sunday morning. i'll post some pics sunday night.

Don't feel too bad!

I'm in the same boat: I can email my pics, but there's still *something* about my software that isn't (yet)letting me upload to this part of the 'net...

I DID just manage to create a 'msn group' called MazdaRotaryPickup, to which I managed to upload some REPU pics from my harddrive... you're more than welcome to go post 'em there, if you can figure out how!

Perhaps emailing Dan the pics, he could put 'em up here for ya?

Hum... things to check before you upload:

1. Unique file names (something like klaus200408-01.jpg)

2. Lower case jpg or gif extension

3. only gif and jpg's are accepted.. no bmp's

What browser, operating system and versions for each are you using?

Correction:

...the group's name is MazdaRotaryEnginePickup, get there by putting groups.msn.com/ in front of those words, no spaces...
Y'all are more than welcome to come and post REPU/oldschool pics there, if it works easier for ya! Come and get your very own 3K pic space... :)

pics of newest prodject

for anyone interested in pics of the finished blue 74 they are under misc in the photo gallery. pics of the newest project tan 75 are in photo gallery under rtrypwrs ,under my 74 pics. this truck appears to have what the odometer reads 48,655 interior is perfect truck is clean. except the usual rust starting under window and in engine compartment.i did not want it to go any further since i am not modifieing this truck from bone stock, so i sandblasted complete engine compartment frame rails etc and inside top of fenders.as you can see in pics only one spot had pitting. i epoxy primed everything, and seam sealed around every seam were water could get into cab {shelf under cowl . i had the factory color computer matched, and got single stage paint so it would not be too shiney.good stuff 120.00 a quart just for the paint. around front windshield will be done the same.more pics to come. p.s. this truck will be for sale also, but not cheap.

Hey rtrypwr,

That tan project is looking sweet. That is what I want to do with mine at some point.I did the same thing with my RX-7 a few years back.Man was that sand blasting a pain, but worth it in the end.I also used some aircraft paint remover to get the stuff in the engine bay off(it had that rusty jones paint sealent on it). What a difference a clean engine bay makes.

Is that tan color a stock factory color? How did you get the master cylinder and brakelines/booster so shiney? They look great like the rest of the project.Good job man.Keep it up.

tan 75

i polished part of the tailgate and took it down to the auto paint store ,had them computer match the color.the clutch master is brand new, the brake master and booster are dam near new,i'm putting all the new and best used parts i have into this truck. which thankfully i'm not having to replace much. if i don't get what i think the truck's worth when it's done, then i'm keeping it. and to be honest , it's going to be hard to sell it anyway's.

another satisfied customer

picked up my buddy last night at the airport, with his new repu. it's been 10 years since he last had a rotary. drove it all day today, smoked a v-6 honda on the freeway this morning. he'll be driveing it back to colorado at the end of next week.he said i wasn't lieing when i told him "every time you drive it you'll either have people asking if you want to sell it, or trying to race you"
