No cluster lights

Well my cluster lights went out tonite. The function of the cluster is working as well as the climate control lights on the dash. I guess a wire has burned in two back on the round plug that goes on the back of the gauges. I wish I could find a total wiring diagram instead of the small section on it in the Mazda REPU work shop manual. Everything is convered but the diagram.

Electrical gremlins can be so hard to track down! Esp, without a good manual.

You know, I've been thinking: You can find the 2nd and 3rd gen manuals online in PDF format... dod someone take the manual down to a Kinkos to have it scanned in? I wonder how much that would cost?

I used to have a diagram of the 74 electrics. The whole thing laid out wire for wire and where it goes. But it disappered. I wish someone out there had another they could share via file.

Wiring Diag

I'm not sure but I think I have the wiring diagram in the back of one of the hanes or chiltons manuals. I used the RX-7 shop manual and the chiltons to wire the 84 B2000 with the 85 12A. I'll check when I get home and if so I'll scan it in and post it so that it can be downloaded. I'm working til Midnight so it'll be about 1:00 CST before I get it done.

Most excellent. Its so nice to be able to see where the Black w/yellow tracer wires goes. Or maybe the blue w/red tracer. And you can't forget the green w/red tracer. Oh and what about that brown wire?

Wow! You guys are really on it!

Somewhere I think I still have a two-page diagram... but y'all are too quick for me! Could it have been a fusible link? The trouble with wires is, over the years, those colors all start to look the same... Then there's still the bad ground option...

I figured I'd resurect this one.

After months of being in the dark it ended up being the Blue w/red tacer wire that plugs directly into the cluster circut board. At some point it got hot enough to partialy melt the area where the light wire comes into the plug.

I still have not fixed it just isolated it.
