Dave

Hey Dave,

What sort of resin where you using to cover up that painted portion of the rotor emblem?

Also is it available in other colours?

Specifically I'm wondering if its not possible to do something for taillight lenses and I can't seem to find any pourable translucent red urethanes. Maybe you know where to find stuff like that?

Thanks.

I wasnt going to post but Martin is a good guy
Martin,
I used "casting craft"resin for the clear. It is available at most hobby shops. It is generally used to make paperweights etc..
I dont know if adding paint for a tint would effect the curing time but i doubt that it would. I use tints in epoxy all the time at work.

Also www.eastwoodco.com sells a lens repair kit that might be worth your time. It sells for under $15.00
There are BTW two tailights for sale on Ebay right now that I am sure you are aware of.
In any case if you go to www.eastwoodco.com
search "lens repair kit" and you will see some products that should be helpful.

BTW pay Scalliwag and I a visit at our new forum
www.vintagerotaries.com

Cheers

Congrat's on you very own Forum!

Now, you might wanna add the Norton F1 to your 'Rotary Motorcycles' section...
And 12A motors don't belong in any rx-4 any more than in a REPU... (hey, waitaminute! I thought you said you were gonna send me that motor after you rebuilt it?)
BTW, that ol' rx-4 is a '76--but that's a '74 grille in the pic...
Just a couple'a things rotary I noticed over there, in between the titties and beer...

Excellent, thanks for the pointer. I've been out of town for the holiday but have been checking into the casting resins and think I have a good source at my local hobby-mega-store. Master-mold-maker I'm not, but I've been practising with better and better results using plaster. Once I get what looks like a good workable mold I'll try molding with a better material like silicone.

Then we'll try cranking out some replacement parts!

Thanks again for the pointer, see you around.
