OK ripped ou the dash pad today

I think since i am going a cuatom resto route i am gonna smooth out the dash instead of a new pad. You know weld up a new skin on the top and smooth it in and replace all the guages with new aftermarket ones.

Whatever floats yer boat, but...

...that original cluster with the tach in the center is one of the key elements that set the REPU apart from all other little trucks. Of course, if you're also building a radically ported motor for it, you'll need a tach that reads a bit higher... :)

yes I could save that aspect of the dast it wouldn't be that hard to work around it. However what about the courier which is what I have . It is a 74 model. I didn't pay that much attention to the cluster.
I love this site by the way. No were else can i get any info on the trucks from what I have found.

Will you be putting a rotary into

your customised courier? It would be the best power to weight ratio for the little truck... Would you want to build a genuine REPU as well? Several of us have shells that would be excellent starting points for a motivated custom builder such as yourself...

The truck I have is a perfect outside shell just has the rust issues in the floor of the cab and bed. I really have 2 perfect fenders, hood, 1 perfect door and about 2 hours worth of work in the other door and about 6 in the whole bed. I have a guy going to reskin my tailgate smooth. I really thgought of a rotary motor, but I am also building on a budget and tring to go rather quickly. So I am down to either a quick ring job etc.. on the 1800 and a exhaust, or I have a nearly new 302 with auto tranny that will fit with a new radiator and electric fans. Now I know all about the power etc.. you can get from a rotarty and I am not putting it down at all. I just am looking into using what I have on hand. That is unless a rotary falls in my lap or I manage to find one to trade for. I am thi9nking on swapping to the mazda grille and lights, since I found a truck in the local yards that part is in god condition minus 1 light.

How do I post a pic I have several of my courier. I tried the gallery and it won't work.

Save that grille!!!

Not to dis your project or perspective, but that REPU grille, intact, --not to mention any other frontend parts-- is far too valuable to a genuine REPU restoration, to be used on an otherwise-courier! Please, consider snagging those REPU parts, and using them on your next (?) resto--(a REPU)--, or passing them on to someone who really needs (potentially profitable...).
As far as your current project, more power to ya...(and I'd choose the 302).
Don't know about your posting questions...but our admin oughta be able to answer those questions...

Actually today I decided to build a billet insert to replace the Courier inserts. I will go back and check on the Mazda. It is a whole truck but not a rotary truck .
I would like to have the flaired out fenders but this truck doesn't have those either. "I don't think"
I will check next week.
