Repu steering wheel

I am curious as to if a rx7 steering wheel would work on a repu column. Will this work? Has anyone tried this? I have a Momo steering wheel coming and i am hoping it will fit on the repu since it wont quite match on my 86 gxl. Anyone?

I have a friend who put a 1rst gen steering wheel on his '74 Repu. I am under the impression that the splines on all rotaries match. As I recall, the Rx-7 wheel was smaller than the Repu, and it was a bit of an issue when he really had to crank on the wheel like during parking etc.

Steering wheels

Not sure about the 74 but I do know that I put a smaller steering wheel on the 84 B2000 and it was the same as the RX-7 wheel. I put a RX-7 wheel on an 86 B2000 and had to do a little modification to the wheel where the spline fits together, only affected about 1/4 in of the spline. Good luck and thanks for sharing the pics of the truck.

flywheel

That flywheel weighs about 5 lbs no kidding. Made in austrailia. It's not mine and I didn't buy one. Had several experienced racers look at those pics and they wouldn't put that thing in their racecar. It really just doesn't look safe. Not much metal inbetween those holes. The guys asked if it came with a wheelchair cause you'd need one when your feet get cut off by exploding flywheel!

AND the teeth on the ring gear get chewed up after one season of racing, therefore requiring a new flywheel every season!

I bought a Centerforce Aluminun 9lb flywheel instead for my racecar. Real nice quality. Cost about 3x as much as the billet one but it's worth it.
