Dash center console?
Dash center console where the radio, ash tray, and heater controls are. How hard is it to get this almost perfect? How much would it be worth?

Then Ebay it.
Put it up for auction with no reserve, and a $0.99 opening bid. Makes sure your auction ends at a 'good' time, on a weekend, so that your bidders have a good shot at it.
Then you'll get whatever current 'market value' is.

I appreciate your answer, but all I want to know is a price, range, or best guesstimate. I do not want to sell.
thanks

Why do you want to know? We could all post a guess. I'd pay up to $50 for instance.
Possibly check ebay for similar items. I've seen REPU parts go for a wide range of price, and as Klaus says, current price can only be determined at auction. Best time to sell is when you think more people want the part, like after an auction the losing bidders will bid more for the same part in a second auction. It all depends on whose buying and how many are looking for the rare item.
We were talking about wood prices last night, One guy has 500 or so 12X12 X 15 ft vertical grain df old growth and wants a price. Contractor at the table says he got 12X14 X 12 ft timbers for $15 each, about 200 of them becuz seller was in a hurry. The quicker you want a price the lower it will be. Board foot for second growth is about $4.50. So his timbers COULD be worth about $810 each. See?
These trucks aren't shown in concours so very few people are looking for NOS or in similar condition. Hope this helps.

...on the other hand...
...not a whole lot of people are looking for parts that aren't in better shape than what they already have, either.
What it would take to pry my best bits outta my hands is much more than I'd be willing or able to pay for a like item... generally speaking.
So... what would YOU pay for a mint condition REPU dash center,(radio/climate control bezel) -- let alone complete with ashtray, original factory Clarion, and climate controls in place?
If it wasn't hard to get 'almost perfect', you wouldn't be asking... am I right?

I want to know to see if it is worth reproducing it, but it looks like its not worth it.
Is there anything that is truly hard to get that might be worth reproducing?

The best reproductions...

...are still reproductions... and those willing and able to pay top $ for mint original parts will likely seek those, instead.
Of course there are parts that are truly hard to get... like a fully intact original valance, or clean and complete original battery box, etc., etc. ...

(Screenname davesrepu, I think)? Prototyped some reproduction taillight trims in clear plastic that turned out pretty nice, IMO... designed to be shot with chrome silver paint from the underside -- they actually looked *fantastic* from a few feet away.... (plus, they'll never get bent up). I encouraged him to produce them, but maybe he needs to hear from more of us?
The side marker trims may not be in such great demand; I'm pretty sure these were not unique only to the REPU, so there might be a few more out there.
The battery box, well... options abound, but nothing that really matches the stock one too precisely... and, at what price?

Fenders, hood, tailgate, tail light trim, chrome strip for hood, front bumper, metal tray behind valance & below oil cooler, battery tray, battery lid with hinges, Mirrors (round and towing flavors), windshield rubber with chrome plastic insert, 1 piece door seals (not generic cut to length), new steering box. Get a group buy completed for the fiberglass valance Pineapple Racing has. A complete truck bed??

I had heard $75 was the going rate long ago from a reputable Repu guy I know. I know this is a little off subject but if I had one as pristine as the one on Ebay, I'd look into reproducing it in fiberglass and make a few bucks selling them to other guys in need because they aren't gettin an easier to find. I had to buy another truck just to get the one I had.

So...
Since it's been quite awhile, I'm curious- what if any parts did you decide to reproduce?
Anything?
Neal.
