Identify: Floor Console

I found this picture in the "Misc" folder in the Gallery. Anyone know what car/truck this console originally came in?

Thanks.
Neal.

Center Console

Unknown Kansei, but I put a picture of the one in my blue 74 in my album. I believe it to be a genny REPU one. Most folks didn't opt for them so you don't see too many.

Yeah, you're right...

...there aren't too many of the genuine REPU ones. So, how much are you going to sell me yours for?

I thought the console pictured above would be really good for those of us that have A/C units, adding an additional two vents in the center of the truck.

I'd say that console came from the maker of the air conditioning unit. None of the trucks came across the pond with AC installed so they are all "aftermarket". This one in the picture has the AC vent in it so must have come with the AC kit.

I'll agree to a point...

I agree with you that it is from a car or truck that had A/C, unless those are just vents, not necessarily for A/C only. Although none of the REPUs came to the States with air conditioning installed at the factory (as far as we know), all the trucks with A/C I have seen all have the same unit (I have seen five with it, including my yellow one), and the truck in the pic doesn't have it. If you look closely, you can see an A/C switch out of a B2000-2600 truck, so we can assume they might have a system on the truck- and you can see what appears to be an evaporator under the dash. Personally, I think the console is out of a late '70s or early '80s toyota or datsun/nissan small truck (similar to the B-Series), but want to find out what it comes from so I can try and source one, as those vents would be nice if we were to retrofit a system from another vehicle (such as B-Series or 1st gen RX-7) onto our REPUs, and didn't have a whole stand alone system with vents like our trucks do.

Genny console

You know, that console would look good in your nice green REPU. Far better than in the well used blue one it currently resides in and it won't fit in my yellow 77 with the air. Besides I'm not much of a console guy anyway. I'll have to see how hard it is to remove.

Now you're speaking my language....

I was going to put the A/C system from my yellow truck on the green one, but may change my mind if you sell me your console, or I could just put it in the yellow truck, since it is supposed to get an S4 engine this summer (currently it does not run- actually pulled her out of a junkyard in Missouri). I really want one of the optional "original" consoles for one of my trucks- bad. If you do get it removed and will consider selling it, let me know (616.225.0780). I will admit, though, I'm not made of money these days, what with the Holidays and in the middle of dropping nearly seven grand on three cars...

I definitely want it, though!!
