Complete weatherstrip kit

I just recieved the latest JCWhitney catalog, and in there is a complete weatherstrip kit for 73-77 ford couriers that includes ALL door rubber, window felt, windshield rubber (with or without chrome trim!) and rear window strips, rubber for vent window, etc. for $219.99.

If that all fits like it should thats the way to go for a restore. I'm planning on ordering it when my project REPU gets closer to getting paint.

JC rip off

Hmmmmm, let us know.
JC Witless ripped off my brother several years ago when they went thru some type of bankruptcy reorganization .... took his money sent him nothing in return. I swore them off ever since. Currently I know of two people who have purchased sheet metal and reported it as low quality, thin, damaged, improper fit, wavy, etc. One bought door seals and now he has to slam the hell out of his door so it will close.

I am just saying ..... make sure that you get what you pay for and make sure you can return what you are not happy with.

Sincerely,
Bruce Toski

That's good to know!

...(about that Co.'s 'issues'...) The need to slam doors with brand-new non-NOS-REPU-specific seals installed --even quality ones-- seems nothing new, though...

I could have sworn I posted a couple days ago in this thread but it is gone now. Oh well.

You should still be able to get all the door and side window rubbers from a local Mazda dealer. I replaced them for about 180 last year. I dont know if the JC Whitney kit includes anything more, maybe a good deal I dont know.

Here is a thread with Mazda part numbers at least

Another lesson learned, I ended up ordering the door seals
from VINTAGE-FORD-PARTS-R-US (ebay). The ad specifically said
"FITS ALL FORD PICKUPS 1973-1979". These things are way too thick, no way they'll work. I emailed them a nice note asking how I should return as they won't fit my truck. Long story short..they won't refund because they're not 'defective'.
I sent them a copy of their ad, we'll see if they want to ruin
the current 100% feedback..
Bottom line, if it doesn't say 'courier' or 'mazda' I'd now assume no fit.

Welcome to 'vintage' vs. 'obsolete'...

...nevermind ALWAYS needing to be model-specific!!!

I would always take 'vintage ford' to mean non-import models... (nevermind what years are currently considered 'obsolete')...

Getting armed with actual part #'s couldn't hurt, either... knowledge is power!
