Usually the easiest way to get parts like that....

is to buy another truck...or so I've found.

Really, Check Ebay, junkyards, etc. Yes, the middles section of couriers 72-76 or 77 are the same. There are probably other years as well that fit.

You have to keep looking, like I mentioned in an earlier thread the other day, key parts like hoods, fenders, grills, emblems, valances, battery boxes and covers, etc are the coveted parts and one ones that in some ways make the truck as unique as it is. They are most hardest to find of all.

I would encourage new members spend a few hours reading through some of the past threads in this forum. We have covered many of these issues in depth and new members can gather alot of information and get up to speed on the tricks, techniques, parts availability, etc, quickly.

For these parts, vigilance and luck is all it tkes to find them.

Just for example:

I recently bought Craig's (straightrepu) 'take-off' center section... the one he replaced with a NOS part in his pursuit of perfection. It is 100% straight, but with a spot of chrome flaking, etc... I thought it a completely fair deal at $75 + shipping... Then again, my most recent, fairly complete (except for the drivetrain), complete REPU accquisition set me back $175... and that bumper is 'almost' as nice. To put that in perspective, however: All my other bumpers are varying (greater) degrees of imperfect, to trashed... and I've been a REPU owner since '97. A clean, straight hood trim strip is at least as tough to find! And then there's the valance...

Well, i dont need a factory part.
I will get a valance off Rob at pineapple.
I will find a bumper, I was just wondering weather it was a matter of tracking down a used one or if I could just pick up a new courier one from an aftermarket supply.
Which I am sure there is somewhere out there.

Thanks

Aftermarket supply for a '74-'77 anything???

I'd guess you'd have better luck tracking down 'obsolete' NOS Ford-branded parts from specialty supply houses/obscure parts dealers... Far as I knew, there wasn't much left on the aftermarket for COuriers of these vintages... If I'm mistaken, please, do let us know! It'd be too cool to be able to source a number of REPU-able made-for-courier items!
