Almost Here!

Ok! Rob is sending me the 1st flash to me today. Once I verify it's fitment and finish, the OK will go out, and the rest will be done is 3-4 days. (although because if the holidays, it could stretch into the 2nd or 3rd week of January before they are ready to ship out.)

If you are on this list, please call Rob at 503 233 3878 To let him know that you want a Valance:

Thanks; will do!

Might it be prudent/kind to email everyone on this list who hasn't posted very recently, these holidays being a busy and distracting time for all? Just a thought, lest someone be bummed for the new year...

Did my part...

...to bring the price down for all of us by virtue of volume...just spoke with Rob, then Eric at Rob's shop--valance sounds great; once confirmed fitment by Dan, I committed to buying three, now that Rob is able to take plastic...
Gotta love it, three quality repro's for the price of one NOS 'too valuable to mount up' 'unobtainium' original! (And that's without shipping, or any other Ebay 'what if's'!)
Merry REPUmas to all, and to all a good night...

But anyways, I got my hood trim part today. Ill let you all know how my trip gose to Robs place.. :)

I'd call him first...

I get the impression he's busier than busy these days... nevermind the Holidays!
How to test a 6-port: If installed, fire it up and see how much it smokes... If uninstalled: Educated guess based on percieved honesty/trustworthiness/knowledgeability of seller, combined with careful inspection--including flashlight in the exhaust ports... If stored, how--and for how long? Turned over every how often? Mileage/ is it verifiable? If it's so great--why was it not kept driven?
You get the picture...

Here it is!

Got the valance last night! Woo Hoo! Looks great. I'm calling Rob later today... it will probably go into production next week.

Here are pics:

http://mazdarepu.com/Gallery/index.php3?album=PineAppleRacing+Valance

Notes: There are indents where we are to drill out for the mounting screws.

The peice is quite light, but is thick.

Comes in Black gel coat.. read to primer and paint.

Since my valance is trashed, I can't really tell how persise the curves are, but it looks damn good.

I'll be putting it on the truck this weekend. I'll email back with pics and fitment issues if any.

That looks great. I would be real tempted to laminate some tab studs where the bolts go to bolt it up. Just fill the indents and paint it. But either way it is going to look gorgeous.

That looks really nice.....

and if I can't afford to get a have a camden supercharged engine or a deal on a nice red REPU for Christmas, then darn it, I'm going to buy a couple of valences.

My hats off and big THANK YOU to Rob at Pineapple and all those others who assisted in this operation. You all did a wonderful job.

Absolutely gorgeous!

It looks better than the NOS ones! Gotta love it; thanks a million to all involved!
Only one thing comes to mind: how many of us will still need to come up with a usable air intake panel to go with the new valance...?

About that "Air Intake Panel"....Klaus....

I have a NOS panel in the garage that I will loan for a mold if someone wants to take that project on. It's never been hung.

Just tossing that in the ring if anyone is bored or looking for a project.

what's an air intake panel?

where does it go?

is it the panel that screws to the bottom of the valance and routes air to the oil cooler??

I'll talk to Rob again on Friday or Monday, and I'll mention that peice. I don't know if he has a good one, so Ken/nwaco, would you be willing to ship him the good one you have?

BTW, I'll be fitting the peice tomorrow, and be taking pics.

Once it is on and fitted, I'll make the final clal to Rob for the OK to produce a bunch of them. Rob's said that those of you that've called already have all ordered 2. He's thinking about running off a set of just 20, so you'd better get calling on Friday or Monday so he knows to bump that number up.

Yes, I am willing to ship it if needed...

to be the loaner for the mold if he is willing to do it and needs the part. Just say the word.

I will mention it as well when I call him to place my order for two on Friday.
