Is that "Phoenix Blue" the blue you see all the time, like on Hooksrotary's truck?

Sort of like hte background to the forum here?

I only know it as "mazda blue" that is used sometimes in their emblems from the 70's.

I still haven't decided whether to go with that blue which looks so good but it seems everyone has, or repaint it the original yellow, thereby maintaining at least one more stock feature.

Luckily I've got about 20 pounds of truck to grind off and sand before I have to worry about it :p

And yes, Phoenix Blue is what everyone calls "Mazda Blue" for the REPUs. It is the same color as the Hooks Rotary truck and the truck at the top of the forum pages.

I had no idea there were so many!

So, how many of those were actually used on REPU's--and which were specific to what other models? How do these correlate to the names we've heard, such as 'Yolk Yellow' and 'Lawn Green' ? Despite the differences in digitally viewed color samples/printers/etc., there must be a way to reference... lemme guess: we gotta look up the numbers...?

Thanks for all of the responses. I'm happy that I have never seen a truck with that Brawny Yellow? (kind of looks orange to me!)

My truck's stock colour is that mustardy yellow.

The same yellow in the brochure.

I'm about 80% decided on going with teh phoenix blue, but a part of me really wants to retain the stock colour. ESPECIALLY since that dude at Vintage Rotary Decals (what is his name anyway? his work is just awesome) has a black stripe kit. Which also has the white "mazda" on the tailgate rather than that diamond shaped Mazda sticker, whcih I always get looked like a dealership add-on afterthought.

Speaking of that brochure, anyone know what those wheels are on that truck? They have a sort of spoked middle. You know the ones.

Paint Codes

Hi guys, I have the Paint Codes in stock.

these are replica's from the originals.
Everything I do is off an original so you are sure to get the same match.

The paint code decal is black ink printed on a silver metallic vinyl with a thin clear over laminate, cut to shape with the slightly rounded corners - not square cut like I have seen around.

also have available the under bonnet labels / decals.

for eg: Spark Plug label - Lubrication label - NOTE coolant label etc..

examples:

also Factory Dealership decals seen on the windscreens.

If your in need, I'm here to help.

- Steve in Sydney. Aus

Steve!!!!!

If you don't have a website, like Max has asked about, PLEASE email me ASAP! I want to buy an entire kit of darn near everything you have pictured! I was going to buy an underhood kit from Juan, but he was still working on one of the labels (can't remember which one), then a month or two later is when he disappeared for good. I still need everything you show there. I want to buy right away, before we lose you too!! ;)

hi there,
Thanks for all the comments guys!

I do have a website, but only for my t-shirts...
which I know you will appreciate also.
If you like the oldskool look!

my site link is : www.letzgo.com.au for Rotary T-shirts.
I also have caps to match.
you can also design your own t-shirt on there.
Have a play around with it.

My sign website is : www.signsinnotime.com.au
you can design a basic sticker on there.

in regards to all the under bonnet, boot labels etc..
(and air cleaner decals coming soon)
I can send you guys JPG files to look over and see what you are in need for.
or just take pics of your originals 'if any' and send them to : letzgo1@tpg.com.au - Steve

I am not going anywhere in a hurry..
been a signwriter for many years, been a Rotary enthusiast for many years...so that's how I combined the two.

feel free to ask me any Q's - more than happy to get involved.

thanks,
- Steve

Most of the trucks that have been here had a decal in the engine bay on the driver's side up on the "ledge" above the headlamp assembly. I have also seen them on the underside of the hood, a bit lower then the other decals towards the driver side, and even saw one with the decal on the passenger wheel well inside the engine bay. Due to all these locations, I honestly don't know where it is "supposed" to be, though it may have just been located in a different locale depending on the year. Most of the '74s I have had and seen had it in the first place I mentioned.
