Windshield and rear window rubber seals...

Hi everyone,

My 74' Repu finally getting the make over. Body work and paint!! Both windshield and rear slider are out but can't source the weather rubber seals for it. Can anyone here provide some leads to where to obtain them? I'd checked previous posts here but some of them dated back few years ago and no longer the same part numbers or no longer around.

Any help would be truly appreciated!!!!!

Tim

I got mine from the same place I got the glass, look at the # on the glass and all the glass companies can get it.

My bro in law works for a courier company in Pomona, CA. and he asked one of his stop (a windshield company) to see if they have a front and rear windshield with seals. To my surprise....they had them both! They placed an order for me and will be ready for pick up this coming Friday. I don't have the shop's name yet but I will share with everyone here if the windshields fit. Price he gave me was awesome! Hopefully they'll fit right in there....fingers crossed!

**UPDATE**

Pomona windshield shop has the correct front window and seal but the back slider is too big and seal does not come with slider. So, search goes on! Still need to locate door seals as well.

Interior and engine compartment haven't even started yet! This project is getting tougher everyday...financially and mentally but my head is held up high and hopefully with any luck, everything should fall into place!

Wish me kuck....

Hope this helps, I gave up trying to locate window seals for my 77. Rear window is technically a 76-1/2 courier. found a pretty good set of seals in a junkyard. Reconditioned them with baby oil. Worked great. Ended up cutting lower horizontal section out of rear seal to make it fit. Still hoping to find a rear sliding window someday.

***Update 9/14/11***

Finally located an used one piece rear window(good shape w/no scratches or cracks) and its rubber seal (little worn but in great shape)!! Need to remove decals from the glass window and used baby oil (per sparky) to clean it up!

Now, my next task is to source door seals and both doors' window seal!

Door and Window Seals

Most of us have used the pinch welt type door seals for the early '80s B-2000 / B2200, as they are still available (or at least they were a year or so ago). I think the last set I bought was technically for a 1984 model. They are a little larger (door opening on later trucks was a bit bigger), but work just fine. Really takes some effort to shut the doors with them until they relax and settle. Pinch welt design is much better for sealing and keeping the seals from coming off the cab. Inner and outer door window 'scraper' felt seals are also still readily available. Part numbers for all of this is buried somewhere in a post from years ago. Let me know if you can't find it, I have all of the parts catalogs and could look them up- Courier as well, so you could check Ford dealer shelves too.

Doors' seal....

@mwpayne....thanks!

@Neal....I purchased the driver's door seals at my local Mazda dealer but they didn't have the right side in stock so they checked their online inventory and shows none are in stock anywhere. I will have to check in with them in few days!

don't bother.. I've called every company that lists that part number and CRLaurence directly. the part is no longer being produced.

Unfortunately, all these sites show the part in stock until you call and inquire.

But I have spoken to a glass installer and they said they can make a gasket onsite for $129 including installation of glass.

So that works for me.. the search was hurting my head.
