Fenders

Coming up on the finishing touches of body repair of my 74, 'pre-primer', I was working on the fenders. These will be the first part to deteriorate, as they ain't that great to begin with. Good deal of rot around the bottom where the fastners are, few holes on the top around the screw areas.
Question; are there any options ar all for fit with a later truck fender? I don't expect to find REPU fenders much better than mine. Saw a set of new ones on ebay for $1200.00 once....don't think so, unless lucky lotto goes my way.
Options, opinions?

What would it take for a place like Pineapple Racing to come up with a set of fiberglass fenders for a group buy like the front valance?

On that note......

I do have a set of brand new, never hung fenders that I am saving to copy one day, I refuse to mount them until....

I may be persuaded (with careful consideration) to loan them for copy if someone responsible was to take this up.....

Sounds great to get them done in fiberglass but you'll need a real commitment from people to make this worthwhile.

I'd be up for a set though and even have some fabrication connections if Rob isn't interested.

That would be fantastic, I'd sure be up for a pair as well. This is the answer, if someone would make them up.

Well, sounds like 3 people would be up for it so far. We'd realisticly need at least 7 more people (or sets) to make this a worthwhile endeavor. If we can get 10 people seriously interested I will check on pricing and a time-frame. If not it's just another pipe dream because I can't afford to front costs for fabrication.

Oh yeah, and we'd all have to ask a big favor since the rest of us have terrible fenders!

fenders

I compared a new Courier fender the other day ....
They don't compare as closly as I hoped.
Twas praying that one would just have to flare them and that would be it. In fact, the bolt holes along the top are spaced different, the front edge mounts completely different and it also appears that the angle on the hood is slightly different.
damn.
I can't go in on the fibes at this time.
Have a like new pair and no extra money since my 4 month roof repair is killing me .... Here comes Ernest !
Rotormonkey .... hope your place is battened down !

What kind of cost could these ultimately cost? I have no experience with fiberglass parts.
I am interested depending on cost as well.

FRP Fenders

I would be interested in a pair or two to get things going. What kind of resin are we talking about and how will they be fabricated?

It looks like we have a solid 8 if the cost is right. If we can get Rob to make them and nwaco to lend his fenders, where in business. I'll give Rob (Pineapple Racing at (503) 233-3878) a call and see what he thinks.

Sure, if it looks like Rob can't or doesn't want to I know some pretty respectable fabricators in Sothern California.

Like I said before, we'd need a solid 10 sets sold initially though otherwise the guys doing the molds won't want to bother and most of all that helps cover the cost of such an undertaking.

Let's see if Rob wants to do this first though since he already is selling the fiberglass lower panels.
