Finally the truck is going to the paint shop to finish the changeover from the tow mirrors to the factory spot mirror. I thought that the tow mirrors used the original mirror mounting holes on the driver side but after a trial fitting it doesn`t seem right. I was looking through the photo gallery and saw the way Dan has his mirror mounted (Dan is that the original?) above the body line and forward placing it under the vent glass. Does someone know if that is correct. Thanks all.

I found a pic with the stock mirror and sent it to you( cause I can't figure out how to post here either) with dimentions taken from mine, you can stop by any time and take a look at the two yellow 74's in the drive as you can see the stock location.

Orville thanks for the pics you were correct about the nut plate on the inside of the door skin. The tow mirrors did use the original mirror mounting holes. I`ll be seeing you and the cat after I finish the move.
Neal the tow mirrors were auctioned off on ebay last year, they are now on Brads truck. If I ever run across another pair I`ll getem for you.
