13b GTU will it work?

How much trouble would it be to put a 1990 GTU in my REPU?The engine comes with the wiring. It has 90k miles on it. Besides changing the fuel pump and front cover. What esle is there to change?

Unsure of all the specifics, but:

Oil pan, and motor mounts will be needed. You'll need to use an earlier trans. if you wish to retain the 'proper' shifter location as well, in order to avoid cutting out your floor...

if you change the oil pan, you'll most likely need to change the oil pickup tube

You say engine has the wiring, does it have the ECU and ignition coils? As far as bolting in that is no problem, front cover takes care of that. There might be some custom work getting the oil metering taken care of, if I remember right that is mounted on the front cover and the REPU setup is different from the '90 rx7. I just disabled the OMP when I put in an '86 rx7 motor, premix isnt really that big of a hassle.

Thanks Guy's

I got the engine, ecu, coils and the wiring harness.I'm missing the wiring from the Ecu to the coils ( No big deal?) I'm cleaning it up this weekend. The metering valve may be a problem? Premix would work but the Ecu will not work without the metering valve.I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks Again
Bill

Metering Valve Problem

The metering valve will not mount on a repu front cover.
It is required for the ECU to work.
Any idea's?

Maybe contact mazdatrix and see if they have an adaptor, if not at least I am sure they could tell you how to get through the OMP issue.

They were of great help when I dropped in the '86 rx7 motor into my REPU. Nearly every question I had about mixing and matching different rotary parts they were able to answer.
