gas tank removal advice
The fuel gauge on my '75 only works from about 1/2 tank to E, and when completely filled it only shows slightly above 1/2 tank. I also get a small leak when completely filling the tank. Needless to say I rarely fill the tank so that's not a real huge deal but I do want to drop the tank to fix both problems at once.
Is it a pain to drop the tank? What all is involved? I have never done this on the REPU but I did on my old '66 Nova so I imagine it's fairly similar. I suspect my float is somehow messed up causing the erroneous fuel level reading, and as for the other problem I'm not real sure. I really need to find a REPU repair manual. If anyone happens to have one and could scan the fuel tank page(s) I'd really appreciate it. I looked underneath where the fuel pump is located the other day and found a purposely plugged fuel hose. I'm not real sure what this normally goes to, but all the smog stuff on the truck is removed so maybe that has something to do with it.
Any tips/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the info.
I do have another odd question though. Does anyone know all the correct routing for the hoses on the gas tank and the vapor canister? I'm assuming that's what it is. The other day I removed the panel inside the bed right behind the gas tank fill tube. I found all hoses connected, but when I looked underneath the truck I only saw 2 hoses connected to that "T" splitter. What exactly is that thing anyway? The nipple pointing directly downward on my truck isn't connected to anything. What normally goes here or is this correct?
Thanks,
Mike

I think
that's the drain for the condense tank... I have about six inches of hose connected to that nipple... other end open, facing the asphalt...

Ah, so it is correct. Thanks! Now to just figure out what that mystery hose is near the top of the gas tank.

myster hose
one hose goes to carb
one hose is carb fuel return line
both of these are on the front side of fuel tank
one hose goes to condense tank
one hose goes to fuel filler, it's an overflow line to tank
that's it!
