Drive Shaft for a -74 Repu....

Hi, There all...

My Repu needs a complet Drive shaft...
If anyone have one to sell iīll be glad...
My Repu does not have the 13B in itīs engine bay and the orginal gearbox is replaced too... The previous owner had put in a Nissan engine and gearbox, and to get it together he welded on another piece of shaft on the orginal shaft...

Now i want to put in the orginal engine and gearbox back in the engine bay, But i need to have a working drive shaft to replace the damage one...

Ps: I live in sweden so here is my only chance to find a drive shaft... I had hope there might be a person that could help me... I know that the shipping can be high... So i hope if anyone have one can hold down the price a bit...

Thanks...
A swed that want to drive his Repu with a ZZZZZ Zumming Rotary engine...

Ford Courier

Early Ford Couriers have the same drive shaft setup and will work in a REPU. But if you find a REPU one thats great too. Good luck.

If for some reason you still need one...

...I'll consider sending you one of mine... but it sounds like Rotortuner's got you covered! Glad you're going back to a wankel motor; you'll have so much more fun...!
Hey Charles, judging by your signature you still need a bed... is that the case?

Klaus42

Actually I have a bed its for the one thats getting the ground up restoration. I got it when I bought the truck from REPUGURU. The reason I have a wood bed on this on is because its the B2000 frame thats a long bed. So an original REPU bed won't fit. But I'm having fun driving it just the way it is. The guys at work call it a deck not a bed. Its been very useful. I finally got around to changing the rear gear from the 3.08 to the 4.60, wow what a difference, no more slipping the clutch to get rolling. I wish I could find a 3.90 for it then my speedo would be right since the tranny is from a RX-7. My projects seem to keep getting pushed out more and more. I still have not built the engine for the little B2000 that I've had for nearly a year. Got all the parts just no time. Keep it on the road and we'll talk to you later.

Duh...

Been long enough since we spoke, I forgot... I knew that! D'oh! Indeed, no time; lack of funds; ...but still keeping it on the road. My 'driver''s actually running GREAT right now--despite the ongoing 'natural' deterioration... windshield-area cancer'll either have to be dealt with by this time next year, or written off as a limited-life-left cab...

To Klaus42

I wonder Klaus42 if you got my Instant masseges and if they got to you... I sent two... But no reply ... I have tryed it before but failed... But people here might not want to talk by IM ... If thats the case why do we have the shit here... Take it away if people donīt use it... I can understand if people want to be for them selfs sometimes, but when i ask them polite to send a messege so i know that it works they logg out and donīt bother... This have happened several times now and i get mad every time it happens...

A mad swed...

Madness !!!

Your right straitrepu itīs the %Ī#""!! computer i been mad about and not our friend Klaus42 , I hope to get his comment about this... If he did get or did not get the IM i sent him... If itīs not working we have to get it fixed by a computer shark that can find out whatīs wrong...

I wonder how it goes with your repaint of your Repu Craig... Have you get it done or is it still waiting in your garage ?? I am still trying to find parts to my object Repu , I call it that because itīs much work to get it in good shape... And to get the 13B Rota back in with all that comes with that... I need to rebuilt it first and i need the shaft as you saw in my first post...

Itīs gone cost me money and time to get it like i want it... But if you wait for something nice you can not wait long enough. Itīs a saying here in sweden...

PS: Klaus42 donīt take it personly , My madness is about non working IM .... Hope to be your friend....

Over and out !!!

The swed ...

Hi Lars

The truck is still in the garage, its been taken apart and is ready, but I`m still waiting to find out if my wife has a job at the end of the month. The headlight covers are going out for rechroming and I`m restoring a center grille emblem. I can`t wait to see it all back together with the NOS left mirror on. Like you I have to be patient.

Why ???

Nice !!!
I hope it goes your wifes way...
And that the paint shop is ready for your Repu to get itīs color...
I have been talking on the phone today with two persons that might still have conections with mother mazda in japan and i hope to get some answers about some parts to older mazdas and i will see if i can get a hint about whatīs still can be posseble to get... I have heard that some parts might could be left in thereīs werehouses...

So i have to wait and see...

For two years mazda sweden did crush all old mazda related items... I asked why they have to do it... And the guy i talked to said that they had to do it... "Because" i said...
We canīt have the parts stored here any more and need the space, We canīt sell the parts to a private person and to crush them is the easyest way to get rid off them... He said...

I got a tear in my eyes... Why??? Why??? Why???

I could tell something nice Volvo did to the old volvo clubs here in sweden...
They did give all the left over parts they had in there werehouses for free to the clubs... And the clubs then sell items to the members for a very low amount and the best part is that the money the clubs gets is a benefit for the members...

Why could not Mazda have done this to the Mazda clubs ???

Why???

The swed...

Let Volvo show Mazda the way...

...to 'delete' 'obsolete' parts!!! Lars, I just got your IM just a few minutes ago, when I logged onto the forum, and then I replied... I share your frustration with the IM system. It's sloooow. Oh well. We can always just email one another!

Consider me a back-up...

Hopefully, Rotortuner or one of our other members (nwaco?) with many more parts REPU's has you covered... If there's no other way, I have one... but that would mean the truck it comes from will never be driven again. I , too, have never shipped anything to Sweden; no doubt it's expensive... hopefully, that won't be a huge problem. Wouldn't be any less from here than from anywhere west coast U.S.... Let me know what's happening, and I'm here for you if all else fails!

I have a few.....

But, like Klaus said, it just puts another repu out of business. I may have an alternative though, I have a shaft that has been cut up by a PO, and have at least the head insert to tranny and the hinge joint. I may have the end link as well. It would cost less and be much cheaper to ship, and you could have a new shaft welded and balanced to it for much cheaper than shipping an entire shaft. I also have a complete RX-4 shaft that I don't need but snagged when oportunity presented itself. I would prbably sell that. Let me know what you think.

I want a orginal shaft in the first place...

I had hope to get a orginal drive shaft nwaco , and had hope to find one that not will put out an other Repu from existence... The best will be if some one have a Repu in so bad condition that it never will see the roads again , so called a parts truck...

Rotortuner i am still waiting for you to find out the shipping fee on the Drive shaft , Please let me know how it goes !!!

If you read this rotortuner and want to do the deal... Mail me and we can sorted out how to go on with it...

Now i hoping to hear from someone else that might have a used drive shaft that not will put some other repu out of buisness... It have to come from an parts truck that never gone see the roads again...

Thanks the swede...

I do not know how to thank him for his help with my parts problem... He is a good friend to me now... I think i go through him with parts that i need in the future...I canīt blame you other guys at the forum here, that i have tryed to get parts from... Some donīt want to take there time to pack and shipp the items to an other country and might donīt want to part from there hard to get items...

I have put up my Repu engine in my home made engine stand and going to disamble it soon... I going to take pics on it and hopefully have them up here on the forum...

Never been to Malmoe...

...and if this machine of mine allowed me to put the 'umlaut' dots in place, I would! Wow, Lars, you sure are up North, eh? Just asking because my friend's band--you may have heard of them, they're called 'Bigelf', are based out of there, when they're not stateside here in LA... Actually, my friend is their soundman/recording engineer...
