I dunno...

It's a Gates, but being made for "light-duty industrial" app's--who knows? I don't know how those app's ('fractional horsepower motors...') stack up against "automotive grade"--whatever that is...

The Gates cross reference number is 1220, for those wanting a Gates belt.

I'll be lightening my REPU up some in a while. Some of that will be unsprung weight ie clutch fan to electric, possibly a stock GSL-SE flywheel (225mm, same size as stock REPU, but newer disc) to replace my worn heat spotted and cracked REPU flywheel, or a LT steel one from RB, alloy rims etc. For sprung weight, I was going to redo my exhaust to hopefully cut its weight in half, and maybe remove my bumper if I'm not towing anything for a while (should only take a half hour to reinstall by myself if need-be).

I was going to start the weightloss process with the swapping of my alt pullies or the alts themselves to one with a single sheave and the yoohoo belt. The rest will follow.

You'll love the effect

of dropping your back bumper! Ditch the spare, too, if you dare... of course, this 'easy' method of lightening up doesn't do a thing to improve the weight balance...but it does quicken matters!

Hey Blake, any more wisdom to share? :)

Darn, I just missed him.

Well, I'd like to say thanks Blake, for the belt info. I'm sure it's going to help my slipping pulley.

I checked out some of my local auto parts stores today. Napa has belts made by Gates. The was a 3L2?? (small green fabric style), and a regular looking V-belt part number: 17228 or something like that. It was a tad bit longer than a 220, but it was pretty thick. I'm thinking I will get both and see which works better. I think the green one could probably work, but I'd like to know where Blake got his. I'll also check some of the hardwarwe stores in a day or two (can't tomorrow 'cause I'm street porting hehe).

Oh yeah, Schuck's can't even order the 220. They've got a 215 and a 225 though. Meh.
