My Hitachi ('75-'77) 4 bbl. carb receives fuel from the pump when I turn the key on (engine not running)and primary bowl fills.
But, when I start the car the primary bowl does not refill. So, engine stops when the bowl is empty.
Sure could use some ideas on what is going on here. Thanks

Sounds like the Needle and Seat or the Float is sticking closed, most likely the Needle and seat. Just a guess since I don't have the carburetor in front of me.

Thanks for the tip but, floats and jets are fine. However, yesterday I removed the in-line gas filter and carb bowl filled and stayed full while car was running. What does that indicate???
