REPU gas tank pick up

Has anyone tried to fix a broken pick up tube in their gas tank. Or figured something else out if its not possible. The truck I am working on runs fine when another fuel source is hooked up to the pump. The tank has a huge dent right about where the pick up drops down from above. I assume the tube is bent and cracked?

Mine was a pain in the ass to get flowing after I had the tank hot tanked... I took a air compressor and blew air in the return line and walla it worked fine ever since

That is certainly worth a try. Thanks.

I had my tank cut open and the old lining removed, cleaned, hot tanked, resealed. He made a cut the shape of a U on the top of the tank and pulled it back to get in there. It can be done but be careful when welding it back. Purge with argon or such inert gas.
