Tuning the stock carb
What is the best way to tune the carb? are their any special tools or gauges that the pros use to get the mixture into the correct range?

hmmmm...
I'm not too sure about this one as I have not done it in a while but the one good this is that the stock carb is by far the best. If you pull it off and have it worked (i.e. match ported, polished and new jets) your motor will run STRONG and purr like a kitten. Of course I'd like to have the Weber too but you'd need the manifold and everything not to mention like to dial it in every so often after you spend 6-7 bills on one. Don't go smaller than a 48 or the motor will starve. If you get one just stay away from Mikuni or tune it everyday! LoL Will follow up with best jets and tools later, sorry...

Anyone know where to get one of these gauges? I found one a while ago, when I was having probs with the 1st gen, but when I went to buy it, the place said they didn't make them anymore.

another trick is to put a wood screw, like you would do on a holley carb, makes the secondary's kick in sooner than 4000rpms like stock, and she'll really fly. i did this on my PU and it helped alot
