85 13B oil pan question

Hello,

I am planning on dropping in a 13B out of a 85 rx7 into my 75 repu. The last repu I had I dropped in a 13b out of a 86 rx7 and had to change the oil pan. Does anyone know if the oil pan from a 85 13B will work without modification or will I have to locate a older oil pan?
Any help would be appreciated.

you need a stock repu oil pan

need a repu oil pan. 1st gen pans don't fit - steering center link is in the way. IF you can't find a repu oil pan, the moroso oil pan for 13b will fit. Don't get the moroso one that has cross braces, just the one they list for older mazdas or for putting a 13b into a old corolla or something like that. summitracing.com is where i got mine.

Hey Brad,

Thanks for the info. My problem is that I have been building my truck on a tight budget bacause of other responsibilitys. Do you know anyone that would have a stock repu oil pan that would be willing to part with it? Most of the parts I have picked up have been bought used from other members. What do they say "one man's garbage is another man's treasure". A creed I follow until I get back on my feet.Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Hector,

Contact Chiqui who is close by in CT. He has a parts truck that may have an oil pan,but I am not sure. He posted up the truck here last week of so,and said he was putting it on Ebay. I wanted parts,and/or the whole truck, but it seems he just wants to part it. I never heard back from him on the price for the whole truck.

I'm not sure what Brad is smoking. Any '84-'85 GSL-SE pan will fit your REPU. I know. I've done it.

I`m preety sure the GSLSE pan fits the REPU. What you cant do is the reverse. The old pan interfers with the GSLSE direction bar.

Good Luck

Be sure to loctite the studs to the bottom of the engine. Pineapple didn't and several were not even hand tight when I removed them for a rebuild recently. Caused the pan to leak oil of course.

Blue locite should do the trick, only put it on the end that threads into the engine. Not the nut end of the stud.

Nice pan, has two little 'trap doors' to keep oil in the front of the pan during acceleration.

the gslse pan fits (5 qt)but the repu pan holds +1 qt .no need to use sandwitch plates that was only an old recall , and ford diesel sealent works the best , they use that sealent to plug all the 6 liter diesel leaks .also atkins rotary sells old repu pans for about 100.00 1 253 848 7776.
