My secondaries are not working. They sprinkle very little but I can kick them in manually. any suggestions?

was the carb running good before?
otherwise, there could be a number of things that could affect fuel delivery. dirty fuel filter, float level, clogged jet, etc.

It was working good but has sat for about four years. I have only had it running again for about a month now and it runs fantastic other than secondaries. I tried a paper clip on it to check and see if they were opening under a load and they are not. Nothing is binding because i can open them manually.

thanks

Vacuum secondaries?

Trouble could range from a vacuum leak, to (a) dirty, clogged circuit(s); vacuum hoses, caps, and diaphragms have a bad habit of aging/cracking/deteriorating/hardening over time... and fuel residue becomes varnish, and even a little bit of dirt, (let alone a spider, or some such) can clog a passage...

if its been sitting for years

you should seriously consider a carb rebuild then. all kinds of build up occurs over the years and it doesn't take much to clog up a fuel passage, jet, or something in the carb. they are very sensitive to impurities. i've found this out the hard way over the last year. luckily, the bus runs close to work for me! haha...

Ya'll are right, i was just trying to talk myself out of pulling it off. The carb has less than 500mi on it but has been on the truck for about nine years. I've run a couple tanks thru it hoping it might straiten itself out with some use but no luck so far. I guess I will pull the carb off tomorrow.

Just a thought but having new exhaust installed would not cause any decrease in vacuum would it?

Not unless...

...you deleted any stock bits that you forgot to plug, or something deteriorated, or got knocked loose in the process...(?)
