REPU with T2 engine PICS!

We got the engine in! We had to fabricate some engine mount extenders, since the T2's tranny is a few inches longer than the older ones... this way, we haven't cut the mounts, and keep the shifter in the stock location!

Here are the pics

Haltech is going to be picked up in a few weeks from K2RD directly... Tranny mount is being fabricated, and should actually be done and delivered soon after I type this. Radiator is done, and the oil cooler is going in for some R&R too.

I think we are about a month away from getting the thing on the road!

FMIC

I'm looking at a front mount intercooler from a supra. I do not want to cut up the hood, unless I can secure a donor hood from the junk yard, or have a fiberglass one fabricated.

It looks like you have a Cosmo steering wheel in one of those pics. How close is the engine to the radiator since you moved it forward?

When I get my Turbo 2 engine next moth I am gonna need to rewire everything because my truck had been tamoered with previously and all kinds of wires have been chopped. I knew I would need to get the wiring for the T2 engine, but now it seems like I should change the wiring for the accessories too. Anyone know where I can purchase a universal wire harness to custom fit in my truck.

Have you gotten to turn her on yet....

Hows the swap coming along. have you turned on the truck yet? I have a friend who has a supra intercooler laying around, he may be selling it. it is the fat looking one about 5 inches thick and about 12x12.

REPU section/reunion at SevenStock5

Well, I just dropped off the starter and clutch slave last weekend... I don't think the engine has been started yet...

Good news is Harry Nieves is opening his own shop here in town (las vegas)!!! Called RoToy... the are going to specialize in Mazda Rotaries and Toyota's (all older makes)

My truck will be the first to get their treatment... I'll also be making a website for them, when they are all setup.

Questions about haltech.

I read somewhere that the Haltech E6K Does not opperate the oil metering pump. Does this mean I would have to premix the gas? If so, is there some other way of getting the oil metering pump to work?

I am ready to get my T2 engine put in now but I was wondering what year front cover will work on the T2 for the swap. I also wanted to know if there is a difference in the wiring harness from a regular rx7 and a turbo II.

That this true, Haltech cannot control Oil Metering pump. I think premix is always better since you know you are getting the oil needed for the car.

I am not sure about the front cover, but 1st gen RX-7 ppl just use the front cover off of a 6-port 13B (84-85)

The wiring harness on TII has twice as much wires (or even more) since it has to control way more junk.

Update...

Thought I'd give you all a quick update:

Wiring is being doing this week for the Haltek.. it is a little slow going, as it's freaking 120 in the shade at the garage where the REPU is... working for a few hours at night is all we've been able to do.

But, we've got a new single peice driveshaft, new rear end (LSD I think... the guys found it in the junk yard.)

I'm restoring the front end.. repainting and pollishing up the grill and rotor thingie.

I hope to have it smogged and on the road by EOM August

The LSD differential you mentioned, is it from a REPU? or can a RX7 diff fit in the REPU's housing?
