DON'T DO IT! The REPU is very rare, and you are basically destroying the truck by going that route. If you want V8 muscle, sell the REPU to someone who will appreciate the Rotary, go get a Courier, Chevy LUV, or little Nissan.

Putting a V8 in a REPU is like a woman going in for a she-male operation (putting a d!ck on a chick.) It just doesn't belong there.

Well if you or anyone here could help me find a rotary motor that puts out more that 300 hp i would gladly put a rotary back into the truck!. But i havent been able to find a motor that will do anything close to what i want, All i want is a motor that will beat the shit out of some V8 mucle car.... i would love to have a REPU that stomps the V8 but i cant find one.... Hence the reason for the 302. I dont want to do it this way..... their are so many things you have to custamize it's insane... if anyone can help me find the right motor i would be honnerd to bring the REPU back to the street.

Super Simple to get a rotary over 300. My RX-7 had 315 at the rear wheels. All you need is a big turbo or super charger. Rotaries love boost.

Hell, there are even Periferial port motors that can go over 300 HP (although at 10,000 RPM)

Talk to Rob at Pineapple Racing: http://pineappleracing.com/ he can hook you up with a rotary that is:

1. Reliable
2. FFFFAAST!
3. easy to work on

Or talk to the guys at Atkins Rotary: http://www.atkinsrotary.com

They can hook you up with a super charger and carbureted engine that will knock the socks off of any 302 powered thing.

There are quite a few rotary shops out there that can put Turbo2 motors from88-91 rx-7s into these guys as well with power in the 200-280 hp range. Remember, the secret is power to weight ratio. You screw that all up by putting a heavy ass v8 in there.

Hey thanx!

Hey thanx that sounds great... i did not want to put the 302 in the truck its just that i was haveing a hard time trying to find some place that would have the motor i want. I would like to be able to blow the doors of anything i come accross, and if i can do that with a rotary motor i wuold be more than happy to :-). I have lots of plans for the REPU like paint-job new inter. and all kinds of things, I will be posting pictures as thr project come along..... hey, and if you or someone else could help me find all these parts i would be greatful... any thing or info that anyone has would help. Thanx-JD

Custom is nice, *but*....:

...true to the 'oldschool' Mazda rotary legacy is SO much better!!!

I take it your project is not yet driveable in it's current state? You really DO owe it to yourself to experience what the REPU is all about, even with a stock 4-port 13-B in it, before you go 'too far' with mods on a rare classic rotary truck...

Trust me, it's quite a unique 'feel', given the low ratio in the back... you might decide you'd be OK with an utterly reliable HP figure in the high 200's --as opposed to a more expensive, radical 300+ -- after you're well accquainted with the REPU's charactaristics...

Power isn't everything; it's how you apply it that counts!

Two more rotorshops with outstanding credentials and decades of experience: www.racingbeat.com www.mazdatrix.com

They can hook you up with the #1 biggest bang-for-buck, best exhaust components for your REPU... which is even more crucial on a rotary than on anything pist-on(!)

:)
