Here's the link to the RB road race header
http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm
Mine fit perfectly. Does anyone have some suggestions on what I should put behind it ?? Long or short primary, do really need the presilencer? What will you gain besides a quiter exhaust ?

Headers & Muffler
A header with longer primary tubes typcally work better on the street when used with a complete exhaust system. A pre-silencer will greatly reduce noise coming through the pipes before the main muffler and can help increase low-end power on most stock or almost stock engines.
Two things to watch out for;
1. Use only mufflers designed for use with rotary engines, the sharp exhaust pulse and high exhaust temp will kill most non-rotary muffs.
2. If a muffler shop is bending pipe for your new system, use the thickest gauge possible. A local shop installed a system on my buddies truck, dead quiet out the tail pipe but with no pre-muff, the "ting, ting, ting" from the pipe between the header and the muffler made it sound like there wasn't any muffler installed.. Good luck!

It had duals with turbo mufflers, they toasted quick, I have installed a new intake, carb elec. dist., and they header since I got the truck and as soon as i finish this exhaust I will be back on the road, the open header tends to attract a lot of attention drinving around the block though !!

Unwelded
I have chosen to use the unwelded kit Racing Beat sells for years.
Why, two reasons.
One they are cheaper.
Two because my muffler guy custom fits it to my REPU.
Sure they have jigs out there(RB)for doing the production REPU headers. But they just don't seem to fit as well as custom fit.

The problem I have had is that the local muffler shops act like the don't want to work on anything rotary.

When I first put the net motor in my REPU I took it to the local muffler shop, drove it the 2 miles there with just exhaust manifold stuffed with steel wool. I really needed something quick because I was moving out of state. Just told them to put the cheapest thing they had on. Now I have about 5000 miles on it and muffler and resonator are working great, really quiet. When I get on it all I hear is the roar of the Weber side draft. Of course I know it is only a matter of time before something has a hole blown in the side but this will hold me over until I am able to figure out exactly what I want.
