Carburrator
I have a 48mm webber sidedraft that is just a little too big for my engine. I am looking to possibly make a trade to somebody who has a 36mm.

you want to change to a 36? That is pretty small, I would venture to say that it almost isnt enough carb for a stock 12a. Personally I would keep the 48, you can always jet it to something that will work pretty good. Then if you ever port the motor you will already have a big enough carb.
Jetting is what I am screwing with now, getting close to having it right all across the rev range. I think I have the idle jet right now, but too small of a main. One more jet swap and I think I will be good.
I am running a 6-port 13b, stock ports. What do you have that the Weber is too much for?

I've Been Running A 13b Out Of A 86 RX7 With A Street Port. That Could Be Where Most My Problems Are. I Just Cant Seem To Keep It Tuned. It Runs Out Really Well But Loads Up At An Idol. I Think Its Just Pumping A Little Too Much Fuel To Burn.

With my 48DCO I find that the float level makes a huge impact on idle quality but not much difference anywhere else. Ever so slight adjustment can make the difference between almost perfect idle and loading up in a matter of seconds. Might want to check that as well.

Well, I just took out a loan for my REPU. Rob from Pineapple Racing is rebuildin the engine. He is giving it a small periphial port, light weight flywheel, stg 3 oil seals, hd water seals, and he is modifing the intake. Maybee with my engines increased thirst I will get the performance I desire from that old carb!

Nope, I already had a bridge port. this is going to be about half the diameter of a normal periphial port.
