air conditioning
I have a friend with a Courrier that is willing to sell me the A/C parts if I want. I imagine the under dash blower unit will fit my REPU, but what about some of the other parts like the hard A/C lines? What A/C compressor? Will the heat exchanger work?
I wouldnt mind having A/C, then I could drive the REPU a bit more in the summer. But how much work would it be to transfer the system to my truck?

My truck has an underdash system that was put in at ARA when it was new and it works great.

B2000
I've got the B2000 Air conditioning that I am thinking about trying to install in my truck. I do have some new hoses, coil in front of the radiator, and a new compressor, that I would be willing to sell. A bracket from an early RX-7 will work fine as long as the compressor will bolt up to it. The biggest thing is the under dash unit and vents. The rest can be fabricated from used parts from a 7. Good luck and let me know if you need some parts.

I was looking on ebay and see some universal under dash A/C units, none have compressors with them. If I were to get something like this would I be able to use it with an rx7 compressor? Do all compressors pretty much compress to the same psi? Or would I have to find the correct compressor for use with the unit?
I decided the under side of the dash on a Courier is different enough that I would probably have to hack up my dash some to get it to fit. Will probably try to come up with something else.

I've got a spare AC from a 75 with all/most of the parts. Working condition unknown. I'll try to post a link to some pictures by end of the weekend. 28-year old ABS plastic parts will need repair.

Hmm, looks like that is alot cheaper than Checker Auto has it for. I think if it was at all possible I would get the compressor used on-line from an rx7 or at a wrecking yard. The under-dash unit seems to be the impossible part to find.
thanks

Compressors mainly differ by operating RPM and refrigerent used. You should find an r134a compressor and build to that,as r12 will eventually go away, so we might as well play up. Any rotary ac unit should be useable, and the aftermarket can find the correct application for the new refrigerant. The condensor may need to be custom built. (The unit at the radiator.) Not as expensive as you might think, but still a factor. I had one made for my motorhome for about $150. A car unit is much smaller, but just as complex, so that may hold for price.
Good luck!
