What parts are/aren't interchangeable between a Mazda REPU and Ford Courier

I know that the main difference is the Mazda having a 13b, where the Ford does not.

But beyond some styling differences, are there internal parts that are the same? I would assume the two are made in the same factory.

Yes, I believe they were made on the same line, and Ford replacement parts were made by Mazda as well... If you get an OEM Courier part, it will be in a Ford box, but say "Made in Japan" on it...

That being said, there are probably more differences than similarities... The B1600 has more in common to the Courier than the REPU....

--Window seals, mechanisms, windshields are the same
--Ball Joints, Tie Rod ends, A arm Bushings are the same
--Heater control valve is the same, but the heater cores are different
--Dome Light Lenses are the same
--Shocks are the same
--I think some Courier's used 4 wheel drum brakes, later ones used front disks that were the same as REPU
--Wheel Studs are the same, though the Courier did not use reverse thread lugs on one side like the REPU

There are also some things that are close, but with some tinkering, can be made to work:

--Hood is the same, though the courier used a spring system to hold the hood open, vs the REPU using a prop rod. (Have the courier spring mechanism on my truck)
--Ignitions Switch is different, but with some minor re-wiring, the courier switch works in the REPU
--Differentials are the same, though the Courier has different ratios
--Springs fit, but are different rates
--Have not tried it, but the Fuel Level Sender on the REPU is 2 wire on my truck, Courier is one, but I think the other is just a ground, so I think it would work in the REPU by grounding the REPU plug to the sender
