pusher vs puller fans

ok i'm getting ready to put an electric fan in my REPU. I know pusher fans are less efficient then puller fans. Just how much less efficient? Also, when driving and they are not on, do pushers restrict more airflow to the radiator?

I'm not sure how much less efficient they are, and yes they do restrict airflow. I've got a small pusher on my MG Midget. It blows (in a bad way). I'm thinking if I left it there and a got a 10" puller fan, it may actually keep the temp stable.

My advice would be to get a puller fan or any fan that can go behind the radiator. This will reduce hot spots, if there are such things with pusher fans (I'm not entirely sure, but it makes sense).
