1974 4spd clutch question

I've got a '76 RX3 with a '74 REPU 4 speed transmission. Now, I bought the car with no engine installed and am in the process of putting an '84 13B into the car. Everything I read prior to doing this swap made it seem like the clutch from the '84 GSL-SE (with stock SE flywheel) will fit just fine. It doesn't thus far. The splines on the clutch disc are 22 and the input shaft of the trans has 22 splines as well, but it seems as though the shaft is larger in diameter (going to to go check this right now).

Is there a difference in the '74 4spd transmissions/clutches vs the '76 5spd transmission/clutches?

I really don't care that the clutch doesn't fit (although it's keeping me from putting the engine in right now) but if I wanted to order the correct disc, which disc would I need? I'll reuse all the GSL-SE flywheel, pressure plate, etc.. just need a correct spline 225mm disc and don't know where to get one....

Thoughts?

Ok, got the dig gauges out and measured everything and it showed that the clutch disc SHOULD fit fine. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that one of the teeth on the clutch disc got a little marred up coming out of the donor car (or during storage, who knows) and just cleaning that up a bit solved the problem. Engine is going in now.

I was trigger happy with the post I guess since I felt frustrated that this SHOULD fit and it wasn't.

Feel free to delete this post mods if necessary.

It's good you got it to work. The GSL-SE flywheel is a good choice for these at 26 pounds. Easy to find discs and pressure plates too. Nicer than the stock 30 pounder with the weird step.

Yea - it's all bolted in right now. I'm in the process of working out the front engine mount. The 13B fits pretty well overall, but it was silly tight and took a lot of "lining everything up" to get it in. The 13B sits a bit forward on the RX3 crossmember. Passenger side looks like I can notch the factory bracket and be set, but the driver's side, not so much. Kinda scratching my head on how to tackle this one. It completely misses the mount all together. Thinking I can just cut and weld a new angle on it and be set.
