We've Lost Orville. RIP, Frank !
Just got the sad news via the following email, and was asked to share this with all of you:
Sadly, Franklin Newton, AKA, Orville, OVQuick & Wiredodger,
from the Manteca Mazda Asylum where a boy and his cat live, without adult supervision,
passed away earlier this evening, Sunday, September 27, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.
It was very sudden and, while expected, it happened much sooner than any of us expected. But, it was peaceful and without pain or discomfort thanks to modern medicine.
Services with Military Funeral Honors will be held in Tracy, California the end of this week. Services are being coordinated by Hotchkiss Funeral Home, Tracy, California. Donations to Hospice or your favorite SPCA are requested in lieu of flowers.
His Cat will be well loved and cared for by his brother. The services will be late in the week to allow for family to gather from all around the US.
We know Frank loved his REPU's and totally enjoyed his interactions with you fellow lovers of REPU's. I expect you'll miss his quirky and dry sense of humor as well as his REPU expertise and knowledge too!
You can reach me at the email below if you need any other info or for questions.

RIP
Wow, I was just talking to someone at Seven Stock about Orville and was wondering how he was doing with his illness. Well that sucks! Glad to atleast hear he went in peace and without pain.
He is in a better place ... Imagine whats in Rotary heaven for him now.
He will remain a legend with all of us REPU loyalist.
He gets my vote for the REPU Hall of Fame!

Sad to see Frank go. I visited him a few years ago during holiday season. Really enjoyed talking to Frank and looking at all his trucks. He showed me a factory tonneau cover with the wonky thing on the end to tighten the cord.
Miss you Frank!

In Shock....
Frank and I were just having one of our chats only days ago... I was waiting on a phone call.
Hard to believe he's gone.
Missed is not a strong enough word.
Neal.

Yeah. 'Orville'...
...was a good guy to talk to, for sure. I regret now that I didn't stay more in touch, more recently. We had phoned and emailed back-and-forth a bit around the time that a motorcycle friend of mine was losing his fight against a rare form of intestinal cancer...
