License as a collectible!

I finally have the bucks to get my supercharged propane powered 13BT REPU back on the road. Bwah, hah, hah!

When I took it to the emissions testing station I had forgotten that I put a massive propane mixer on it taken from an off road v8 Jeep. That thing really makes her scream, but it wouldn't pass emissions last week.

I was thinking that I'd either have to locate the old small 2 barrel mixer in my factory's storage (oh, boy), put a catalytic converter on it (temp), or register it on one of the local Indian reservations (no emish required). I was WRONG!

Since 2007, in Arizona, a collectible vehicle that is 25 years or older, and is insured as a collectible vehicle, can be registered with no emissions. Ta-da... problem solved. I'll switch my regular insurance to collectible, have the company call the MVD to verify, and I can get my tag pronto.

Since I'll probably only drive it on an occasional Friday and weekends I'll have no problem meeting mileage requirements.

Ah, this is going to be fun.

Has anyone else registered their REPU as a collectible vehicle?

We had nice collector tags in Florida for old cars / trucks for many years now. Only problem is some bureaucrat got the law changed, nixed the collector tags, and now we only have ANTIQUE tags ... that are an ugly color ...and just not the same.

For some reason they nixed emission testing many years ago as well ... for all vehicles !
