ANOTHER SAVED REPU

I guess I'll start with a brief introduction. My name is Robert and I'm from the Inland Empire here in So-Cal. I've been into old imports for quite a while, "Mainly Toyota's." I sold my 86 Toyota Turbo truck and wanted somthing fun and old to drive that had some style to it. I started looking when Two REPU's popped up for sale in Washington. Some of you may remember the craigslist add. I got in contact with the owner and after a long negotiation settled on a price that seemed resonable for the truck.

So with a price set and pictures in hand my Pops was kind enough to take the trip to Washington and pic it up. The trip took him about 23 hours up and back but was well worth it.

The truck as very little if any rust on it at all. Factory A/C, and a 4 speed. Tons of compression and sounded great when fired up. They said it just quit running, but a quick direct fire setup and new coils cured that right up. I've been tinkering with it a little here and there when I find the free time, but nothing major just yet.

Soon enough this one will be back on the road full time. I plan to use this as my daily driver in the next month or so. I think I'm just going to put some Cal-Trac bars, a StreetPort 13b 4 port motor later and a 650 holley. Just a simple setup but effective for the street and to tow with.

Here's some older pic's of when I first brought it home.

Damn Pertano, now going crazy with the Mazda's? When do we get to see the pics of it polished up and dropped with the trick wheels? It's only a matter of time.

Soon bro. Very soon. Just need to get the wheel hub diameter turned out for the front wheels. Not a big deal, but been too busy lately. Once I do that then I'll be close to ready.

Welcome!!!

Hey Pertano,
Nice score you got there! Congrats! I'm from the other forum too. Right-on!!! It's good to see that the REPU population is growing in the I.E. area.
So, this is a Washington REPU huh? I'm looking at picking one up from there real soon.
Good-luck with it!

I got nothing done this weekend on the truck. The old lady was in Vegas so I was watching the boy all weekend. Anyway here's a quick look at the other rotaries in my stable.

First is my RX-4. I just picked this one up today. Got it from the original owner for cheap. I wish I had looked it over a little more, because it's rougher then I thought, but still a nice place to start.

2nd up is my Rx-3. This one is also an orginal owner car. Got it a few months ago and will hopefully have it up and running in time for SevenStock. If not the REPU will make the trip.

Have you registered the repu for California yet? Is it a problem to bring a out of state car to California and get it registered? Let me know how it works or turns out.
good luck. Nice vehicles!

I've done it many times. Not troubles at all. Just need to have the title from out of state and have the vehicle verified at the DMV. It's only another 30 minutes added to the process to have the DMV person come out and inspect the vehicle. But I have the owner at my work do it for me so it saves me a ton of time.
