I assume this is the 4-pot front caliper and a modified hub assembly of some sort with vented disk? Very interesting, am very curious as to the price but I may be interested.

Forgot to add, 6-lug is what I would want... unless this is for all 4 corners with rear disks? Then I might consider 5.

excellent
6 lug for me
braided lines
powdercoat calipers and brackets? sure.
Is this front only or front and rear. If also rear we'll need another master cylinder as a m/c for drums retains residual pressure which will lock up a disc brake while driving. Plus the fluid resivoir will need to be bigger for rear discs.
How much will this change the tire track width, and is it an aluminum hub + rotor or the spindle slip-on like what billy does?
Also we should consider installing a bigger power brake booster as REPU uses a 7" diaphragm and T][ 9.5". Increased Pedal pressure is what 1st gen Rx7 owners talk about when doing a T][ brake upgrade.
Lots of things to consider and I'm very happy someone is doing this project.

He will rebuild the calipers and I"ll be getting drilled or slotted rotors, not sure yet which,,, so keep those comments and ideas comming. Thanks for the replys guys , this helps so much. and oh yes brad I'll give him that info!! Hmmm more peeps are interested in the 6 lug I see.

Kool! Depending on price; 5 lug, slotted rotors, powder-coated, and of course braided lines.

I might consider...
...trading a parts/project REPU for a set or two... (6-lug, natch).

i would just like an adapter to be able to use all the original T2 hardware, you are thinking right down my alley Micah, I went to the wrecking yard to get a set so i could measure them out and see what i might work out with a machine shop. Sadly no 4 pot seconds gens were there.. i know for the first gen sevens they make a similar kit and i cross referenced some of the bearings .. basically i want to be able to use existing FC parts to help simplify the maintenance.

Any updates on this? I'd be happy with 6 lug, but just like Brad said, it would require much more work than just slapping on some calipers if it were to be done right.
Might want to see if Billy from RE-speed is still planning on releasing his TII/REPU brake kit of not since he already caters to the old scool RX market.

Micah,
Ever thought of using Isuzu TROOPER rear discs? Maybe Juan can make some adapters for them to work? The Trooper is already 6 lug and paired with a set of TII front calipers/vented discs would be an awesome brake package. Actually, to help make the R&D even more simple, how about a package like this:
-FC RX7 4 piston front caliper w/ modified bracket for front brakes, rotor undecided
-FC RX7 rear caliper w/ modified bracket to fit rear axle using rear dics from a Trooper or other 6 lug truck
-FC RX7 brake booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve
-parking brake cables will have to be addressed later
-measure all of a stock FC RX7s brakes hard lines to see if the REPU would need more/less to hold the some volume of fluid
^Hopefully by using all the FC RX7 brake components you can have similar brakes in our old trucks. IIRC the FC RX7s weigh right around what our REPUs do, 2800 lbs. This is an idea I've had floating around for a while but just haven't had time to mess with.

Sweet! If you don't mind me asking (and I don't think I saw it posted earlier in the thread) what shop is Juan affiliated with? I'm curious since the old school rotary community is pretty small. Wondering if I might now them. :)
BTW: that was post #69 for me. Good luck omen perhaps? LOL!
