!!!!!!!!Mazda to build the REPU again!!!!!!!!
Mazda just released today that they will be building the REPU again. Based on the current B-series platform, the truck will feature frame stiffening, fender flares, a unique grille with rotor emblem and the battery located under the bed, behind passenger door!!!
4 wheel vented rotors and ABS standard. Limited Slip differential standard. And 4WD as an option. It has the best rack and pinion steering they ever made; steering response is said to be immediate with excellent feedback.
Extensive rustproofing measures taken.
Motor will be a 3 rotor version of the Renesis, with subtle porting changes to add torque without reducing peak hp. A reported 375hp and 350torque. 6 speed manual or 5 speed auto with paddle shifters.

I dropped by my local dealer just a few minutes ago,and the confirmed this rumor. I put my name on the list for the first one they get in green. I cannot wait!!!! The sales guy said I could expect to see them showing on dealer lots by the fall of this year. Probably earlier on the west coast.

Special autocrossers Option Package
I talked to my local MAZDA dealer today, who was extremely helpful. He said there will be a Special Autocrosser's Option Package. Aimed at the 2nd generation REPU taking the B Stock SCCA National Championship.
Factory lowered 3 inches, with relocated suspension pickup points front and rear to optimize tire contact patch throughout suspension travel and increase the camber curve without throwing toe or the track width out of wack. Fiberglass leaf springs and Watts link. Bilstein shocks, larger sway bars. And still retaining a 5000lb towing capacity.
I'm all giddy. Can't wait!!!!

Saw dealer on lunch break
They showed me a picture of the 2nd generation REPU and it look sweet. You'll never guess what it had - a locking gas cap. Not chrome, but polished stainless steel. They even showed me a pic of the back of that cap in the brochure and it looks like it will fit onto our old REPU's!!!
Since stainless is extremely expensive these days these will be sold for $75.00 plus $25.00 shipping direct from JAPAN.

Anyone have a picture of the new truck, or know where there is one posted? No word on the MazdaUSA site, nothing on rotarynews, one of my dealers had not heard of this... I am checking with the Regional Sales Manager tomorrow...
Neal.
PS- If this is just a joke, Brad, sleep with one eye open....

QOUTE::: If it't too good to be true, Chances are it's not..
I think Brad's yankin our chains. Who else would think up a 3-Rotor Repu with autocross option. BTY- I think the quoted HP and torque values are a little out of range. I don't think Mazda can get a extra 150 HP from 1 more rotor on a renesis. Also, who else would yhink to mention how PERFECT the steering is. It looks like Brad's genius extends beyond the realms of supension.
This is by far the best april fools joke as of yet....
