Inexpensive Tires...

Hey guys- for what it's worth I thought I'd let everyone know about some inexpensive tires I just got for my truck. I got a full set of Hankook H-714's (205/70R14) for $208.00 out the door at a small mom 'n' pop type tire store. They are Traction A, Temperature B, Treadwear 380, so they're definitely no good for tearing up the streets or autocrossing, but for a 40k mile tire, I thought the price was unbelieveable. I just got a set of Dunlops for my Jeep Cherokee a few months ago and it was darn close to $600 (before some rebates), so this $208 set nearly dropped my jaw. Don't know if the price is standard fare, or if they are closing them out or what, but for anyone needing tires that doesn't have deep pockets, they're worth checking out.

Happy Holidays!
Neal.

HANKOOK TIRES

Looks like you got a good deal. How do you like how they ride? I'm in the market for some tires real soon and not sure of what brand yet. I just got this REPU and the tires on it are mismatched, as in two sets of different brand names and two sets of different sizes.

Wish I could tell you...

...but I got the tires mounted, and got the wheels back on the truck (I always have tires mounted on loose wheels- no "service providers" ever get to drive my cars), then had to pack and leave for my parents' place for the holiday. I won't be back home until later on Saturday when I do plan on driving the truck, provided the weather is decent. Once I get a chance, I'll post a report.

Finally got to drive her last night...

I took the truck out very briefly last night (still trying to get some time to rebuild a stock carb, as this Holley is running the truck WAY too rich and it stumbles if you are out of the "sweet" spot), and must say, I am quite happy with the tires. Next to no road noise, very smooth ride, and they even felt like they had some halfway decent grip (have a short little twisty near my house) for the price.
