Guess the poll feature looks funny. So let's do it this way:
Lets get a count.......
How many do we have for one of these 3 choices:
Option A: Aprox $175.00 Retail, Uses 4 piston calipers. Stock 4 or 5 lug second gen rx7 hubs.
Option B: Aprox $550 Retail, Uses 4 piston calipers, Mitsubishi rotor and custom 6 lug aluminum hub.
Option C: Either one.

...with everything you've got going on, and given the pristinely beautiful stock resto on (formerly) Craig's REPU, I'd sure hate to see some 4 or 5 lug front end on it...
Do that --(and more!)-- to ANY other truck, please?
...some things are more valuable, and rare, left alone...

If still available...
...by the time I'd be ready, I'd want option 'B'.
Heck, I'd trade a whole 'project' REPU for option 'B' right now... provided the hubs, rotors, calipers, pads, etc. were all included... :)

No Klaus, it ain't so....
....I picked up another 74' for cheap so the kit would be for it. As a matter of fact I've done a few things to the red repu and would like post some pics. Can I Email them to someone to post for me?

Brakes...
I am in.
Option B for 6 lug.
However, if I could get some 5 lug spacers in the back without too much hassle, I would like Option A.
Callipers included? (-price seemes kinda low?) Or TurboII/FD callipers supplied locally?(-my back yard)

Spacers...
...are always a bad idea; they are the opposite of an improvement in geometry, durability, weight savings, and efficiency. Plus, you'd have to counteract the additional offset with your choice of wheel... also, not known for extending bearing life!

5 LUGS PLEASE!!!
The wheel selection for 6 lugs is absolutely terrible. Come on people, 5 X 114.5 is definetely the way to go. Are you all really happy with steel wheels??? No... really.
I've already had my axles welded and re-drilled in a 5 lug pattern, that's how much I hate the 6-lug. Plus, if you guys are serious about getting an LSD in your rear end you could just swap in a Toyota rear since the come in 5x114 already and there's all kinds of rear ends for those things available.
The best part is, you can run RX-7 wheels, toyota 5 lug, nissan 5 lug, Ford 5 lug Mustang wheels, etc... Better wheel choice, cheaper and lighter wheels. My vote is for 5 lug.

Or, you could simply...
...do a rotary engine conversion on one of the aforementioned trucks... and fugeddabout everything that makes a REPU, a REPU.

Is that enough to move forward with a big brake kit? If so, which one or both?

Have not forgot about this. I will start to move forward with this on Monday. 4/5 lug will be out first as the 6 lug takes more design time and mfg time.

I'm with you, Klaus..... I wouldn't want to give up my 6-lug TRUCK wheels! One of the "kewl" things about these old trucks was their rugged construction compared to the competition of the day. I'd like to have the bigger brakes too, but can't see spending that kind of money. If I need to tow something so heavy I can't stop it I'll use my Z71.

It is quite the investment...
...but, considering, for example, that I need to completely re-do the front brake system (nevermind other bits, like suspension, and steering, and...) on at least one REPU, well... it's an investment in 'appropriate technology', right?
Only a question of time, money, and effort -- as usual...
