Hi from a new guy to the site

Hello Fellow Enthusiasts. Just wanted to introduce myself and make my self available for any help I might give to those who are building their own trucks. I have been a rotary enthusiast since 1982 when I bought my first new Rx7. Since then I've built hundreds of engines, done several conversions, owned numerous trucks, Rx3's, Cosmo, Rx4's, Rx2's and Rx7's of all three generations and various rotary powered race cars. I used to offer a kit to convert Spridgets to rotary power. I currently am making a 100 mile daily commute over the hills of Eastern Oklahoma to work in a sad looking, but strong running '77 RPU. I aquired my current driver a year ago from a friend in Tuscon who had it sitting behind his shop since 1987. I'm looking forward to a fun and helpful exchange with all of you. .....
Happy Rotoring.....

Rob

Yes, Welcome...

Rob,

I too welcome you to the forum. Always nice to meet fellow rotorheads. You'll find a great group of folks here, mostly all of us walking encyclopedias of Mazda rotary and Wankel general knowledge and application, as it is obvious you are too. Being from Oklahoma, you'll probably be hearing from some of us in states with shall we say less than desireable climates(I'm in Michigan), and therefore next to no decent "old school" parts cars around to be bought up.

I used to frequent the old forums back when there were no web based forums (everyone remember IRC in the late 80s & early 90s?) but got away from most of the web based forums as soon as they got started up due to young, cocky, and unknowledgeable "ricers" taking them over and turning them into dragstrip hyped, aluminum winged "bling" related sites. This is the only forum I ever frequent because it is the opposite of that- mature, rotary-dedicated folks who know what they are talking about and get along. Hope you enjoy the group as much as I do.

Neal.

Greetings, Rob!

...from me, as well. Say, that REPU you picked up in Tucson wasn't from behind Rotary Response/rx for your seven, was it? :)

Welcome to the forum, and please feel free also to check out 'my' little MSN-group!

(A wild guess...)

I don't really 'know' Jay, personally... only bought an old carb. from him off Ebay this last year.

I was bummed to hear of him having to liquidate so much, though, in order to move his shop...

Rob, is that the white REPU that was for sale on his site? Had a camper shell, and it's suspension was modified for towing.... Do you know what exactly was done?

Hey Brad,

No, I got the blue '77 that Jay never got around to fixing up. The white one he has advertised is a strong, straight, no-rust '75. When I first saw it in '85 it was green. Jay sold it to a friend and fellow racer and they painted it white to match team colors. I don't know much more about it except that when I was out there last year it had no engine or tranny and Jay said they had put suspension goodies on it back when it was being used to tow race cars mostly from Tucson to Firebird in Phoenix. It's a good start for someone ..
