New Engine in the Truck - ITS ALIVE!!

The engine is back in the truck, and she's running again! I have a little tuning to do... seems to be a little ping under boost... but I need to remember NOT to get on it for the next 500 miles or so.

I have 3 major projects for the truck up next:

1. Gauges - All Autometer in a custom fiberglass pod

2. Fuel line replacement from tank up

3. Lowering it by a few inches.

Is that an REW I see in there Dan?

Did you swap the front plate and retain the stock mounting points?

Are you running sans IC?

How long until you think you'll have some numbers?

HP/Torque/MPG/boost/octane/etc

In case you can't tell I'm going with forced induction myself so I'm looking to benefit from your experience :)

It is still a Turbo2.. but it is a complete Frankenstein...
89 Jspec Rotors, 88 Housings, 89 LIM, 88 UIM, 88 Turbo, 89 Exhaust Mani... REPU Front Cover.

I have the Front Mount intercooler. if you look at the first photo, you'll see it right behind the valance, mad max style.

I still have about a million other things on my todo list before I'll get it dynoed, and then out on the track! Here's my list:

* Replace and ZipTie all vacuum lines

* Tuning
- Adjust Timing
- Add more fuel
- Wideband O2 Sensor

* Test Oil Injection

* Fuel Line Upgrade
- Gas tank check
- Retainer clips for gas line

* Relays with fuses/breakers for:
- Electric Fans
- Head Lights
- High Beams

* Rear Differential
- LSD w/ 4.44 or 4.6x gears

What are your thoughts on this? You're so damned quiet all the time I don't know what your ideas are on the subject. Have you got a solution in hand or are you still figuring it out? We've been kicking around ideas for just that sort of thing lately in another thread.

lowering the REPU

Hi Dan,

As for lowering the front, I used coilovers and am selling it as a kit. $400.00 + shipping. Choice of spring rate:

375

500

600

700

Stock is 512 so I used 500's.

bolt-on

Shock slides right up the middle of spring and coilover. it lowers the truck 1.25" minimum and can go as low as your tire and fender clearance allow! I can adjust ride height on one corner in 20 minutes.

I am glad to see another Turbo II powered truck running. I can't see in your pictures but are you still running the stock MAF sensor to the stock rubber turbo intake hose? I could not make it fit with an air cleaner assy and built a custom 3" u-shaped intake tube for it. Mine is still stock intercooled which of course does not do much. Where did you get the core and how much hole drilling did you do?

Thanks,

Paul
