cleaning spark plugs

how does everyone clean (if you need to) their spark plugs. I currently just soak them in a parts cleaner and then do the best i can with a brush. Is there a better way? I don't have a air compressor...yet...so i can't use the spark plug cleaners that use compressed air. I'm not even sure they are worth it, or just a gimmick. any recommendataions appreciated.

Clean Plugs

Yes, I have used the little air compressed sand blaster bag for cleaning a set of oil fowled plugs. It cleaned them spotless after a few prolonged blast.
You must look down the inside of the plug carefully afterward to make sure you remove any grains of sand that be come lodged during this time.
Solvent and a wire brush will work fine too..

the quick'n dirty method:

a small squirt of B-12 chemtool followed by brushing with a brass wire brush... eye protection and a paper towel come in handy too...
