Fail Safe Thermostat?

Anyone ever hear of a fail safe thermostat? One that fails in the open position? I had the TV on (in the background) on TNN yestarday, the dumb dumbs on Crank and Chrome were doing maintance on some Accord or something, but they said something that cought my ear: Motorad Fail Thermostat. I can't find any information on sizes or if they sell them for Mazdas (hell, I can't even find a vendor for them in the US that is on the web)

I'm going to give the actual company a call later today, to see if they make them for our cars, here is their info:

6292 Walmore Road
Niagra Falls, NY 14304
1-800-328-7828

I just heard about these too--a friend had claimed to have installed one in his toyota...news to me they existed! I still wouldn't use any therm. that lacks the 'plunger' in a rotary--do these have them?
