Repu seen in the wild

Hello, Everyone

I was driving through Roseville, Ca today on business. I was at a stop light admiring a nice and clean Gsl-se in the oncoming lane when I noticed the grill of a Repu in the the cross traffic lane on my right. I was certainly surprised. From the brief look I got it had glossy dark blue paint, I believe a new fiberglass valance ( assume since it was straigt and black ) and some well polished aluminum rims. I was surprised to see one out on the street, and was wondering if this belonged to a member on the forum. If not, I will certainly keep my eye out for it again to try and add another member to the site.

Thanks
Shaun

Was this on Cirby Blvd. by chance? If so that was me, I was either on the way to my parents house or on the way home. Actually, now that I think about it I'm almost positive it was me since I've seen absolutely no other RX-3 SP blue REPUs with aluminum wheels in this area. Heh, your description just kinda threw me though 'cause the paint isn't exactly glossy (it's OK -- nothing superb) and the valence isn't black, but I'm still fairly certain it was me because I was in Roseville on Monday for part of the day.

Thanks for noticing, are you often in that area?

Mike

Hey, kinda of cool to locate the owner. I work in Sacramento but was in Roseville picking up some signs at (Signs of our Times) for the Hotel that I run. I never got a great look, but was just shocked to actually see another one on the road. I was on Riverside Rd just off of the 80, you were in the intersecting street. I live in Oroville so just came down through the 65 on my way to work that day. Let me know, I would love to get a look at your truck sometime, you are pretty close no matter whether I am at home or work. I know that Bill from Poway here on the page will be working his way to the North State later in June. and I will be meeting up with him when he is here and sure he would probably like to meet another member and see your truck as well.

Thanks
Shaun

Sure, we should meet up sometimes. Feel free to email me at mmanitta@sbcglobal.net, I'm out of work right now so I have plenty of free time. Dang I need a job, heh.

Actually this coming Saturday the 15th there is a Sacramento area rotary BBQ/meet @ McClellan park, you should go -- and bring as many people as you can. I'm usually the only "old school" guy at the meets, so any other REPUs or anything else old school would be refreshing. It's usually overrun with 3rd gen RX-7s -- nothing against 3rd gens. (I used to own one) but when 95% of the rotary cars that show up @ a meet are 93-95 7's it gets a little boring, I like to see a little variety. We need to represent the old school too, you'd be surprised how many people I run into who don't even know Mazda made a rotary pickup.

I had actually thought about bringing my 1200, yeah I know it's not rotary but it's still pretty rare and neat lookin' I think. Depends on if we can get some sort of old school rotary commitment, might just end up bringing the REPU again.
